Payments

Slick, quick, secure. Pretty neat too.
Our payment system makes booking items online a breeze.

At checkout, we securely take your payment details but no charge until your booking is confirmed.
We do this by placing an authorisation on your payment method for the due amount.


How does an authorisation work?

  • If your booking is accepted, the authorisation will turn into a real charge and the amount will be deducted from your payment account
  • If your booking is declined or expires, we’ll automatically release the authorisation and you won’t be charged
  • An authorisation will usually appear in the pending section of your credit card or payment account
  • Depending on the processing time of your bank, the authorisation release may take up to 7 business days
  • An authorisation release will either appear as a refund on your credit card or payment account or may disappear from your account entirely

Secure online credit and debit card payments only at this time.
We accept Mastercard, Visa, Visa Debit and American Express.
Please note, the payment limit for debit cards is set at £2,000.

Payment due now is the first of two payments to be made on certain rentals, the second payment being Balance due.
This relates to a split payment scenario, subject to the supplier’s Payment and Cancellation Policy.
Whenever you see either 50/50 or 20/80 on an item listing’s Payment Policy and your hire start date is outside 30 days from time of booking, then you will have two chargeable payments.

We take care of this for you, as this payment will be auto-scheduled to be charged to your payment card upon order confirmation.

No, sorry! Bookings made on Supazaar must go through our payment system.
This helps ensure both parties - you and the supplier - are protected and supported by us under our Terms of Service;
not least through cancellation policy, refund policy, as well as security deposit claims and issue resolution policy.

No, Supazaar can't split your order cost across multiple payment methods.
To make a booking, you'll need to make your payment with a single payment card.
If you need to update your payment card for a split-payment (balance due) or long-term booking please contact us for assistance.

Please know that if your payment is or was unsuccessful, you have not been charged.
Debit and credit card payments can be unsuccessful for a number of reasons.
If an error occurs at checkout, we’ll do our best to let you know why and give you the option to try an alternative payment card.
In the majority of cases, card payments are unsuccessful due to one of the these reasons:

  • Your bank declines your payment: It's not unusual for banks to stop a payment that they might perceive to be unusually large or to a new and unknown recipient - just in case. The best way to resolve this is to give your bank a quick call, let them know it is you making this payment and that Supazaar is a trusted recipient. Once they've confirmed this, your next attempt should be successful.
  • Insufficient funds: Your bank might take issue if there isn’t enough money in your account or if you have a per-transaction limit.
    Card limits vary by card and bank; per-transaction limitations also vary. To find out more or to adjust your limits, please get in touch with your bank. Note that it can take some time for the changes to take effect.

No credit card information is ever stored on Supazaar servers.
Due to the nature of rental, it is necessary to store your payment method details while the hire is active.
So to do this, and authorise and process payments, we use one of the most secure and reputable online payment processors around, Stripe.
All card numbers are encrypted on disk with AES-256 and decryption keys are stored on separate machines.

We secure all information on our platform using SHA-2 and 2048-bit encryption – the strongest on the market.
Our payment structure is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant. This means all your data and customer information is ultra secure.

N.B. help us keep your account secure:

  • Never share your account details, especially password, with anyone except the most trusted colleague
  • Never email anyone your login details
  • Change your password at least once every 12 months
  • Notify us immediately if you witness any unusual activity on your account

Need your order invoice? No problem.

Simply access and print your up-to-date invoice via your Supazaar account, not just for every order but for each payment made on that order! You’re welcome.

Ok, here’s how:

  • Login to your account
  • Open your account menu [click top right profile icon]
  • Select ‘Orders’
  • Click on the Order number
  • Click on the ‘Invoice’ tab
  • Select ‘View’ to open and print or download the invoice

Please note: except for balance due payments, which are auto-scheduled on our payments system, any additional ‘manual’ payments taken after your order has been confirmed will not appear on the given invoice. Instead, for these payments you should receive an email receipt for your records.
